102-year-old SB19 fan among A'TIN who flocked to Rizal Park for Lollapalooza watch party

A 102-year-old fan was among the thousands of A'TIN who gathered at Rizal Park in Manila to watch SB19's historic performance at Lollapalooza 2026 via a live simulcast.

According to Jhomer Apresto’s report on “Unang Hirit,” Friday, Lola Julita Odron traveled all the way from Cavite to join fellow fans at the Department of Tourism (DOT)-organized watch party.

Her daughter-in-law, Almira Sarez, shared that Lola Julita has been an SB19 fan for three years and has already attended three of the group's concerts.

While they could have watched the performance from home, she said the experience felt more special when shared with fellow A'TIN.

Lola Julita's favorite member is Justin.

"Justin is her bias. She thinks Justin is very handsome. Good thing the Department of Tourism organized this watch party. Thank you so much," Almira said.

Another fan, 46-year-old Alleine Nadal Khalifa, flew in from Qatar to witness the milestone. She will also travel to Japan on August 15 to support SB19's concert there.

"Just to witness this moment, it's like we're part of it too," she said.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old aspiring P-pop artist Shang lined up as early as 5 p.m. the previous day.

Aside from watching the performance, Shang also got to showcase their talent by performing for fellow fans at the venue.

According to the DOT, around 2,000 fans registered for the Rizal Park watch party, with attendees required to present a QR code before entering the venue.

The event came shortly after SB19 was named the country's tourism ambassadors.

Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay said the group can help encourage more travelers to visit the Philippines while also promoting Filipino culture.

"Tourism isn't just about places. Tourism is food and culture. Earlier we were talking about food—sinigang, adobo. So we want them to promote the whole thing," she said.

SB19 is the first Filipino act to perform at Lollapalooza, which is one of the world’s biggest music festivals.

The P-pop Kings still have thanksgiving fan meets in the United States before heading to Japan in August for Summer Sonic. They will return to America in October for the KPOPWORLD Festival in Texas. —Carby Rose Basina/JCB, GMA News
