Xonara says friendship, struggles of the group inspired new single 'Pula'

P-pop girl group Xonara drew inspiration from their journey as trainees and their bond as a group for their latest single, “Pula.”

In an interview at the sidelines of their XONARA's World "Pula" Pit Stop in Trinoma on Friday, member Eurekah said the song is ultimately about chasing dreams, while highlighting the friendship and connection the members have built since their training days.

"Our experience as trainees was different. Our experience as a group was also different," she said.

The group drew from those challenges as they worked on the song, turning their hardships into inspiration for its lyrics and message.

"When we were writing this song, the pain and hardships were still very fresh for us. Those hardships strengthened Xonara," Eurekah said.

"I think we drew inspiration from the challenges we experienced as trainees and the struggles we went through when we formed the group. That’s where we got the inspiration to write the song." she added.

Xonara made a music comeback on Friday with the release of their latest single, “Pula.”

To mark the launch of “Pula,” the group also met fans during the first stop of “XONARA's World” at Trinoma in Quezon City on Friday.

Xonara had a grand launch event in Escolta, Manila in May. They are the first girl group of 1Z Entertainment, the company founded by SB19.

They dropped their debut single "Tabi" in the same month.

Before their official debut, Xonara performed at SB19's Wakas at Simula: The Trilogy Finale concert and the Aurora Music Festival.

The group is composed of seven members: Eurekah, Tin, Dominique, Ella, Namie, Lei, and Megumi. —JCB, GMA News
