David Licauco, Rayver Cruz, more Sparkle stars to play in celebrity basketball match with UST Growling Tigers

David Licauco and Rayver Cruz are set to lead the celebrity basketball match between Sparkle GMA Artist Center's stars and the UST Growling Tigers!

The UST Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (UST-IPEA) announced on social media that “The Roar: A Celebrity Match,” an exhibition game featuring the Sparkle Hoopstars, will take place at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion on September 8, 2026.

Joining David and Rayver in the star-studded lineup are Derrick Monasterio, Anthony Constantino, Prince Carlos, Kevin Dasom, Mavy Legaspi, Shan Vesagas, Mateo Monzones, Winston Stolk, and Anjay Anson.

Ticket prices for the exhibition game range from P250 to P1,000 and will be available for purchase at UST.

Proceeds from the game will benefit UST's student-athletes.

According to a report by The Varsitarian, UST’s official student publication, the fundraising exhibition game will serve as part of the university’s UAAP Season 89 kickoff festivities on Sept. 8 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion.

In May, Sparkle stars, composed of David, Will Ashley, Josh, and Anthony Constantino, among others, had a basketball showdown with fellow celebrities.
