Baus Rufo shares hilarious story behind viral ipis incident on 'Unang Hirit'

Baus Rufo had an unexpected interruption while reporting for “Unang Hirit,” and it came in the form of a cockroach landing on his head.

In a TikTok video, Baus recalled the hilarious incident, which happened while he was reporting alongside fellow host Joy Barcoma.

“While Joy and I were reporting, the production team started signaling me,” the stand-up comedian recalled in Filipino.

“I thought, ‘Huh? Is there some choreography we need to do today?’” he added.

But Baus soon realized the signal had nothing to do with choreography when he started feeling something crawling on his head.

“So when I swatted at it, boogsh! Jusa and I saw that it was actually a cockroach,” he said.

The incident also proved too much for Joy, who apparently could no longer handle what was happening.

“She did a farewell walk, and that moment was basically like a firework,” Baus said.

Baus also joked that the cockroach was sent by “Unang Hirit” staff.

“So what’s the lesson here? Never, ever mess with HR,” Baus said.

Baus has been a regular guest host at “Unang Hirit” since June.

He rose to limelight with his podcast "Dogshow Divas," which he co-hosts with fellow content creator Macoy Dubs.
