SB19 opens up on rebellious message behind 'Lawless'

SB19 opened up about the rebellious message behind their high-energy track “Lawless,” explaining that its “outlaw” concept is less about breaking the law and more about choosing one’s own path despite other people’s expectations.

In an interview with Genius, Pablo said the song immediately caught the group’s attention, particularly because of its prominent guitar-driven sound.

He explained that “Lawless” is about living like an outlaw, but not in the literal sense of breaking rules.

“Basically, the song is about living like an outlaw. Not really, you know, like an outlaw breaking all the rules type of outlaw, but someone who's willing to go against expectations of people,” Pablo said.

“Choosing the right path for you regardless of what people say with all the conviction that you have inside,” he added.

SB19 released “Lawless” last month. It was first performed live during SB19's Lollapalooza stage, which officially made them the first Filipino act to perform at the festival.
