Derek Ramsay on LTO fake plate probe: 'I will cooperate and appear when requested'

Derek Ramsay has issued a statement regarding his involvement in an ongoing Land Transportation Office (LTO) investigation involving a supercar found using an allegedly fake plate number.

On his Instagram Story, the actor said that he is aware of the issue and clarified that he does not "drive any cars with fake plates."

"All my vehicles have proper plates," he wrote. "Please carefully read the statement issued by LTO to properly understand what is happening."

Derek also said that he has yet to receive a show-cause order but will cooperate with the authorities when necessary.

"I will cooperate and appear when requested," he said.

"To the LTO, I apologize for what is going on," he added. "Driving with fake plates is wrong and should not be tolerated."

Based on the LTO's initial findings, Ramsay had allegedly sold the vehicle to a businessman. However, the vehicle had not yet been transferred to the buyer's name, leaving Ramsay as its registered owner in the agency's records.

Since Derek remains the registered owner, the actor has been included among the individuals who are required to appear before the LTO on August 24 to explain the matter. —Hermes Joy Tunac/MGP, GMA News
