Jaya receives news that she 'died' in a car crash

Friday the 13th is regarded as an unlucky day by some people, and true enough, some become unwitting victims of this superstition. Prandksters can use this day to spread morbid rumors meant to shock people, especially if the rumor is about the death of a showbiz personality, like singer Jaya. Text messages spread out last Friday, June 13, explaining in gory detail the cause of Jaya's death. It said that Jaya got into a car crash and was instantly killed. VERY ALIVE. Today, StarTalk belied the ugly rumor by interviewing none other than the supposedly dead singer herself. Jaya's voice sounded very much alive and well. When Lolit greeted her, Jaya exclaimed, "'Nay Lolit, buhay pa ako!" Lolit asked how or why the rumor spread and Jaya gave a possible explanation. So natapos yun, e, okay naman kami. "I came home at around 7:30 p.m. So nanood kami ng sine. In the middle of the movie, mga 10:30 p.m., nag-ring yung cell phone ko. Darling's call to Jaya prompted her to go to the cinema lobby to better hear Ms. D. At first, Jaya thought she was going to be fired. "May bad news," Darling told her. "May balitang kumakalat. Patay ka na dahil sa car accident." As bad luck would have it, Jaya and her husband were watching a horror flick, so the news didn't need to sink in and absolutely terrify her. MESSAGE TO THE PRANKSTER. Jaya related to StarTalk how all the people she knew in GMA-7 got the said prank text. It was enough for everyone to freak out and immediately got Ms. D to contact Jaya. Jaya tried in vain to find the culprit. To cheer up Jaya, Lolit said, "Di bale na. Jaya. "So, kaunting ingat at maraming dasal dahil... Kung sino po ‘yan na nag-imbento niyan na hindi nakakatawang joke, I will pray for that person because that was not a hilarious joke." Just to make sure that people would see that Jaya was indeed still alive, Lolit said that everyone should watch SOP. Laughing out loud, Jaya added, "Don't forget All Star K! din!" - Philippine Entertainment Portal
