Eat Bulaga!, SOP rule weekend daytime race
PEP: Despite the controversy regarding Eat Bulaga's show in Los Angeles last month, its telecast was the most-watched daytime program last Saturday, August 2. It posted a rating of 25.2 percent; followed by Pinoy Records with 24.9 percent and Wish Ko Lang with 22.8 percent. Occupying the fourth and fifth spots are Wowowee and Takeshi's Castle. StarTalk regained the upper hand against rival Entertainment Live; 14.5 percent and 11.1 percent, respectively. Bitoy's Funniest Videos generated 32.9 percent rating to lead all primetime programs. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho came in second with 30.5 percent while Pinoy Idol grabbed the third spot with 28.9 percent. Imbestigador and Pinoy Dream Academy took the fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Maalaala Mo Kaya, featuring comedians Smokey Manaloto and Benjie Paras, raked in an impressive 22.4 percent to take the sixth spot; followed by the pilot episode of Varga with 19.1 percent and the farewell telecast of Kapitan Boom with 17.5 percent. The double birthday celebration of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera in SOP ruled the daytime race yesterday, August 3, with 18 percent. Its rival show ASAP '08 got a respectable 14 percent, considering that it was a replay, to grab the fifth spot. Showbiz Central was in second place with 17 percent while its rival, The Buzz, grabbed the 8th spot with 11.5 percent. Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin's advice program Dear Friend took the third spot with 16.4 percent while Pinoy Idol Extra was in fourth place with 15 percent. In the primetime race, Pinoy Dream Academy Little Dreamers surprised everyone with its 27 percent rating to take the first place. It was followed by Mel & Joey with 25.6 percent, Kap's Amazing Stories with 25 percent; Pinoy Idol and Goin' Bulilit tied at fourth place with 24.7 percent; and Sharon completed the Top 5 with 19.4 percent. The special tribute to Comedy King Dolphy, dubbed as The King of Comedy Dolphy at 80, took the ninth spot with 16.2 percent. Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan and Dyesebel topped the daytime and primetime race, respectively, last Friday, August 1.
