Tiya Dely's remains at Loyola Memorial Marikina
MANILA, Philippines - The remains of veteran broadcaster Fidela "Tiya Dely" Magpayo arrived at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City at noon Tuesday, even as some of her fans went there early to pay their last respects. Radio dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported that Magpayo's remains arrived in a metal casket and were brought to the memorial park's Chapel B for public viewing. Magpayo, 87, was clad in her Filipiniana outfit. The report said she wore the outfit when she received an award from the University of the Philippines. Public viewing will end on Friday afternoon. Magpayo will be buried Saturday afternoon. On the other hand, the memorial park's management said many listeners and fans of Magpayo had called them up about the schedule of the public viewing. Some of Magpayo's fans arrived at the memorial park before 11 a.m. to pay their last respects. On the other hand, fellow broadcasters paid tributes to Magpayo on air since Monday evening. Vice president Manuel "Noli" de Castro Jr, a former broadcaster, sent a flower arrangement for Magpayo, who died Monday night after suffering a stroke during her dzRH program Saturday. - GMANews.TV
