Doughnut house scuffle: EB Babes file raps vs man
MANILA, Philippines - Three members of the dance group EB Babes, who figured in a doughnut-house scuffle in San Juan City have formally filed a complaint against the man who allegedly assaulted them. A report from GMANews' 24 Oras Nelson Canlas said that Mae dela Cerna, Saida Diola, and Ann Boleche on Tuesday filed less serious physical injuries charges against Fabian dela Paz before the San Juan Regional Trial Court. According to the dancers, Dela Paz intentionally threw hot coffee at Dela Cerna in the middle of their heated argument. In a statement released by TAPE Inc., the producer of variety show Eat Bulaga where the group was a mainstay, the argument started after the dancers arrived at the shop and "unknowingly" cut into the line before Theresa dela Paz, the wife of Fabian. The statement added Dela Cerna apologized in order to avoid further misunderstanding with the Dela Paz group. But instead of accepting her apology Theresa continued to berate Dela Cerna. EB Babe Diola then advised Dela Cerna to leave the scene but before they could leave Fabian threw the contents of his coffee cup at Dela Cerna and threatened to hit Diola. "Pagkasaboy (ni Fabian) kay Mae umiiyak na po siya (Dela Cerna). Nagulat po ako nakita ko punong-puno na po siya ng kape," Boleche said. "Nagwawala pa rin po siya. Hinahatak na po siya ng anak niyang lalaki. Tapos susuntukin pa po kami," Diola said. But according to Theresa, her husband did not intentionally throw the coffee against the dancer. She added that Fabian was just defending himself against the EB Babes. Dela Cerna who suffered first-degree burns was immediately rushed to the Cardinal Santos Medical Hospital for treatment, the statement added. Aside from the burns, the report said the incident has also affected the hearing capabilities of Dela Cerna. "Sabi po ng doctor nasunog ung canal ng eardrum ko tsaka ung mismong eardrum po ung nasunog," Dela Cerna said. It will take Dela Cerna four weeks before she can go back to work, the report said. - GMANews.TV
