Court acquits Ritchie D' Horsie of drug charges


MANILA, Philippines – Comedian Ritchie D' Horsie, who has been detained on drug possession charges, is now a free man. This came after his acquittal by a Quezon City court, a decision which was handed down the other day, a report aired Friday in the Chika Minute portion of GMA news 24Oras revealed. Ritchie, Richard Reyes in real life, said that he considered his acquittal as a "miracle." “Ito para sa akin miracle ito e. Kahapon lumabas yung decision na acquitted ako, so I’m so happy," said Ritchie who was jailed in 2003 because of the illegal drug case. Ritchie said he wanted to be with his family this Christmas. Last November 11, TV host, film producer and comedian Vic Sotto shouldered Ritchie’s P120,000 bail bond so he can join the movie version of “Iskul Bukol…20 years after." Ritchie was an original cast member of the popular '80's TV sitcom “Iskul Bukol," with Vic, Tito Sotto and Joey De Leon. After 20 years, the movie version will be an official entry on 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival. - Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV
