John Lapus details new segments of 'Showbiz Central'

MANILA, Philippines – "Showbiz Central," GMA Network's weekly entertainment show, welcomed the New Year with new segments – and the sweetest John Lapus walks us through each one. Don't Lie to Me 2009! Siyempre we're starting with John's own segment – the 2008 breakaway hit, "Don't Lie to Me!" "Ang maganda kasi dito, since it's digital, and the computer is actually patched to our giant monitor, 'yung dalawa na nasa likod, the audience can actually now see the breathing pattern, the perspiration pattern, and…pattern ng heartbeat." Sweet says the audience would now be privy kung ano talaga ang lumalabas sa machine. "[Malaman] na ng audience na: 'Oy! Parang tumalon [‘yung graph], siguro nagla-lie!' So we are actually giving our audience an exclusive access to the actual lie detector machine." He even adds na magaling na nga rin daw siyang magbasa ng results. "Although minsan…nakita mong [nagfi-flicker], it doesn't mean na nag-lie siya. Pag 'yung tatlong lines 'yung talagang gumanon-ganon, I think that's it. Doon na nag-lie." Pero siyempre, Sweet adds na "hindi basta porque may movement na ganun, may certain degree, may number. May papel 'di ba doon sa gilid? Well, may graph…and only the inspectors [ang] nakakaalam lang kung hanggang saang number 'yung talon nung graph, kung nag-lie o hindi." And though malaki na nga ang ipinagbago ng "Don't Lie to Me," nandito pa rin ang pinaka-paboritong part ng mga viewers ditto – ang mga sayaw ni Sweet! "Actually, I launched na may new dance step. It's buwis buhay-slash-circus, ganoon na ang labanan ngayon – you'll see." Asked why he keeps on choreographing new stunts for his dances, Sweet humbly answers, "kasi diyan lang naman ako magaling, sayaw lang naman ang kaya ko – buwis buhay. Hindi naman ako singer. And besides yun ata 'yung inaabangan nila e." Kuwento ni Sweet, "Minsan nilalapitan ako ng mga strangers, sinasabi talaga nila, 'gusto namin pag may lie, 'cause we want you to dance.' Parang, 'ah okay.' And that's why, pag hindi nagla-lie, maski ako nasa-sad na rin. Although maganda, ang ginagawa naman namin, pag nape-perfect na truth, sinasayawan pa rin namin, isang sayaw nga lang. And every Sunday I prepare five to eight dance steps." And this has happened! "I think Patrick [Garcia] was the first. Ang naalala ko pa lang si Patrick, si Katrina Halili, and si Janice de Belen when I [was a guest] sa "SiS." Birthday niya ‘yun. Na-perfect din ni Janice. But other than "Don't Lie to Me 2009," meron pang three new segments na talaga namang kagigiliwan ng avid fans ng Showbiz Central: Gimme Mo! "We have a new segment, 'yung 'Gimme Mo!' with Mo Twister," the host says. "Before naman other shows actually did segments like that – na parang 'yung mga mahihirap na tanong, si Mo Twister naman talaga nagpasimula niyan. And he's bringing it to 'Showbiz Central,' Mo Twister is doing something that he does best. So 'Gimme Mo!'" Gossip Gurl "'Gossip Gurl" with Miss Rufa Mae Quinto!" Sweet says that this is something na talaga namang kagigiliwan, especially by the online fans of the show. "Kasi 'di ba ang mga tsismis nagsisimula sa Internet, sa blog, sa text, sa mga tabloids. Basically it's like that, mga tsismis na nasasagap ni Rufa Mae in other media." Intriga Crossfire And 'yung "Crossfire," three to five minutes yata of questioning na lahat kami tig-isang question. [There are] no follow-ups so you have to wait for your turn, so medyo nakaka-tense for the artist. But thank God it was very successful naman when we launched it." The first celebrity to take on the new segment was Ara Mina. "Maganda kasi yun, the guests would really not know kung ano 'yung itatanong ng bawat host. Because 'di ba, kaming lima we have different personalities, we would ask anything under the sun. Ako, sinabi ko, [I promised] na nga, sa lahat ng magge-guest sa 'Crossfire,' I would have the lightest questions, since may 'Don't Lie to Me' naman ako. So abangan nila. They should watch out for Raymond Gutierrez. Grabe, talagang nagbabaon. Nakaka-shock!" Like for example? "Last Sunday, talagang siya 'yung pinalakpakan na question. He actually asked Ara Mina kung magkano ba raw 'yung suot-suot na singsing na diamond ring. Si Ara Mina nagulat, 'di ba?" Pero hindi lang guests ang mahihirapan sa segment na 'to. Dahil nga the hosts can only ask one question per turn, paano ang mga follow-up questions sa juicy answers? "Mahirap! You should wait for your turn, doon ka magfa-follow up, if you want to do a follow-up." Tumutok sa "Showbiz Central" every Sunday para di mo ma-miss ang exciting segments nito!
