Revilla offers help to Katrina over sex video with Hayden

'SLAMMED-DOC VIDEONAIRE.' The leaked video footage of actress Katrina Halili and Dr. Hayden Kho has already found its way into the underground market and has already become a best-seller. PEP
(Updated 11:52 a.m.) MANILA, Philippines - A day after he was denounced at the Senate, Dr. Hayden Kho faces a probe by the National Bureau of Investigation in connection to the posting online of his sex videos with various celebrities, including actress-model Katrina Irene Pe Halili. Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr., who called Kho a pervert of the highest degree in a privilege speech Tuesday, said he plans to accompany Halili to the NBI to lodge a complaint against Kho. "Personal [na] magrereklamo siya ... siguro dadalhin natin sa NBI para imbestigahan at file-an ng karapatang kaso si Kho [Katrina plans to come to my office and we will bring her to the NBI to file a complaint]," Revilla said in an interview on dzXL radio. He said Kho may be held liable for violating the law against violence against women, noting the video showed Kho deliberately prepared the cameras to set up the video. What is worse, he said, is that if Kho did it to the actress and at least two other celebrities, he could have done it to his patients. "Yan ang mabigat dito, siya ay isang duktor. Baka mamaya ibang pasyente kinukunan ng video. Diyos ko [That is the hard part. He is a doctor. It is possible he could have done it to his patients]," he said. "Ang punto lang natin, tayo lalaki rin. Di tayo nagmamalinis pero galangin naman natin ang kababaihan [My point is, I am also a man. I am not being holier-than-thou but we have to show women respect too]," he added. In a separate interview on GMA's Unang Hirit, Revilla also said he had already taken the first step in bringing up the matter to the NBI. "Sumulat na tayo sa NBI para imbestigahan ang pagkatao mismo ni Dr Hayden Kho… I think Katrina Halili will come out today and will file a case today," he said. Urging concerned people to "immediately take the matter to court," Revilla said his office will be more than willing to extend assistance. "Kung anuman ang maitutulong ko, basta bukas ang aking opisina naka-ready ang mga abogado ko. Basta susuportahan natin siya [Whatever assistance I can give, my lawyers are ready]," the senator said. Revilla said initial information he had received indicated that Halili might be dropping by his office at 1 p.m. Katrina had also approached women's group Gabriela earlier to seek counseling.
IN JAIL. Sen. Ramon Revilla Jr has not only expressed outrage over the leaked video but also offered to help Katrina in filing charges. Senate
Revoke license On Tuesday, Revilla pushed for the revocation of the license of Kho for uploading a sex video with Halili on the Internet. He blasted Kho as a “buang" [deranged] and a "pervert of the highest kind" who should not be allowed to practice his profession. "I have already written the Professional Regulation Commission to revoke the license of Dr. Hayden Kho and ban him from the practice of medicine perpetually. He has no right to treat patients knowing his state of mind fully well," Revilla said. He also pushed for restrictions on Internet access, making Internet service providers (ISPs) accountable if such sex videos are uploaded through their facilities. "We can follow the Chinese or the Middle East model where all ISPs are required to block online pornography," he said. Revilla said it was bad enough that Kho uploaded a sex video of him and an actress on the Internet, but Kho’s being a doctor made it worse. He said that with what Kho did, it is doubtful if people will entrust their daughters to his care. "The acts in the video is not what I am angry about kundi ang paraan ng panlilinlang ng duktor na ito. Taking advantage of the trust and emotion ng kanyang girlfriend at ipakalat at isapubliko, which has ruined the dignity of this poor and hapless woman," he said. [I am angry not so much as the acts in the video but the deception with which this doctor took advantage of the trust and emotion of his girlfriend, which has ruined the dignity of this poor and hapless woman.] He said the girl, who he did not name, is now in a "state of depression" and could not go out of her house. What is sad is that it was the woman who came out in the media in past weeks to apologize for what happened, he said. "Ang nakakalungkot nito, itong babae pa mismo these past weeks ang narinig natin na nag-sorry. Pero ni minsan itong manyak na ito di humingi ng paumanhin [What is sad is that the woman came out these past weeks to apologize. But never have we heard from this maniac]," he said. "If you ask me wala sa tamang pagiisip ang taong ito [this guy is not in his right mind] ... This perversity poses a risk to the public," he added. Revilla also said he has filed Senate Bill No. 12, to punish voyeurism. 'Commotion' Revilla said he learned about the “scandalous" dance video – featuring Kho and Halili dancing to the tune of Wham's “Careless Whisper" – from members of his Senate staff, who at the time went in a “commotion" while viewing the videos. "Nung nakita ko ang video, nanginig ang laman ko. Nanggigil ako... hindi ako makapaniwala na magagawa ito ng isang lalaki [It gave me chills. I was so enraged because I could not believe a man would do this]," Revilla said. Days later, the senator received a call from his staff telling him about another video of Kho and Halili, this time engaged in sexual acts. "Nakita ko na siya [Kho] mismo ang nag-o-operate ng video na walang kamuwang-muwang ang babaeng involved [I noticed he was the one maneuvering the camera without the woman’s knowledge]," Revilla said. The senator said it no longer matters whether or not Hayden was the one who uploaded the video on the Internet. The more important points of the issue, he said, were the fact that Kho videotaped his sexual encounters without his partners’ knowledge and that he had been irresponsible in ensuring that the videos do not land in other people’s hands. "The fact na siya mismo ang kumuha responsibilidad niya kung kumalat iyon, ninakaw sa kaniya. In the first place, bakit mo kinunan at bakit lahat na lang ng sex partner mo kinukuhanan mo," Revilla stressed. Minor Revilla said he has already ordered an investigation on claims that Kho – who has been in the medical profession for about 10 years – had “victimized" an underage woman. "According to our source mayroon siyang batang biniktima, menor de edad [Sources have already told us that Kho had victimized a minor]," Revilla said, but quickly added that this has to be confirmed yet. Revilla said acts like those of Kho’s should never be tolerated, and also expressed fears that if left unpunished, the embattled doctor might continue victimizing unknowing women. "Hindi ito gawain ng matinong tao. Ito’y pambabastos sa kababaihan para siyang walang ina o kapatid na babae [A sane person does not do this. This is a disrespect to women. It’s as if he does not have a mother or a sister]," Revilla said. Best-seller Taking advantage of the fiasco created by the scandal, peddlers of illegal merchandise in Manila have lumped together all of Kho’s sex videos and compiled them in cheap pirated DVDs – with reports saying that prices are pegged at P150 a copy. Revilla said he has already called on the attention of the Optical Media Board (OMB) to deal with merchants proliferating the DVDs in underground markets in Quiapo, where they had reportedly been selling like hot cakes. For his part, OMB chairman and actor Edu Manzano had already said his team could go after pirated DVD sellers only after one of the people involved in the video comes out in the open, claims copyright ownership to the footages, and files criminal charges. - GMANews.TV
