(Update) Dennis Trillo's pal dies in Boracay mishap

Kapuso star Dennis Trillo was hurt while his friend got killed in a freak accident on Boracay Island in Aklan province, Wednesday afternoon. GMA News’ 24 Oras reported that Trillo, and his companion, Maxene Eigenmann suffered bruises in their bodies when they tried to save their friend, JV Bordojo (not Jollibee as earlier reported in radio reports) who slipped into the water and drowned. Popoy Caritativo, talent manager of Trillo, said the actor was on vacation in the island resort when the accident happened. “Nakita raw nila na he (JV) was out of breath at kumakaway. So Dennis jumped in and sinagip niya. Nahawakan naman n'ya…kaya lang patuloy daw na humampas yung malakas na alon..nagkahiwalay," the talent manager narrated based on Trillo’s account of the accident. (They said they saw JV out of breath, and waving for help. So Dennis jumped into the water and saved him. He was able to get hold of him but the waves that kept on coming got in the way.)
Rescuers from the resort and Philippine Coast Guard immediately searched for the victims upon learning about the incident, the report said. They were able to rescue Trillo and Eigenmann but not Bordojo. Trillo and Eigenmann were brought to the Metropolitan Doctors Medical Clinic for treatment. “He’s (Dennis) in shock, he’s very sad. Umiiyak siya kaninang kausap ko. Medyo hindi pa siya makapaniwala sa bilis ng mga pangyayari kasi they were just having fun," Coritativo said. (He's still in shock, he's very sad. He was crying when I was talking to him a while ago. He could not believe that it happened so fast because they were just having fun.)
