F4's Jerry Yan to visit RP on child-relief mission

Superstar Jerry Yan of the Taiwanese boy band F4 is coming back to Manila this December, but this time as an ambassador of the international child-relief organization World Vision. Yan became popular in the Philippines via the hit TV series Meteor Garden. He has already started with his eight-country Asian tour to promote World Vision's child-sponsorship program. So far, the pop superstar is already sponsoring three children in Mongolia, which he visited late October. Through World Vision's child-sponsorship program, Yan has been able to help send children to school, provide for the children's families' basic needs, and help them sustain livelihood. “I had better understanding of the children living in poverty around this part of the world and the dire circumstances many are living in," Yan said after visiting Mongolia. Yan is calling for more people to start supporting Asian children in need. In the Philippines, Yan will be inviting Filipinos to help sponsor children for as low as P15 a day or P450 a month. - Rona Co, GMANews.TV
