Lani shields Jolo from Osang’s scathing attacks

Jolo Revilla a woman beater? Lani Mercado is crying foul over the allegation that her son Jolo had hurt Grace Adriano, an unwed mother of Jolo’s baby who lately has been the object of a raging controversy. The accusation was hurled by Grace’s mother, Rosanna Roces, who had previously lashed out at Jolo’s parents in television interviews in retaliation for the young actor’s alleged failure to support the baby. Roces, popularly known as Osang, claimed Jolo was violent toward Grace and this led to their separation. Mercado, however, told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) that Jolo would not hurt women because he has been raised properly. "Pinalalabas nilang nananakit ang anak ko. Hindi ko siya ganyang pinalaki," PEP quoted Mercado as saying. "Tinataas ko na ‘yan sa Panginoon. Basta ang akin na lang, matapos na ‘yan. Gusto ko na lang magkaroon ng peace." PEP interviewed Mercado during the birthday bash for GMA Network program manager Redgie Magno last January 10 at the Imperial Palace Suites. “What pains me is that he (Jolo) is sad because he doesn't see his son. Minsan, ‘pag may lumabas na pangit, hindi na siya makapunta [sa kanyang anak]," Mercado said. Mercado said Jolo is currently trying to get in touch with Grace so he could see his son. "Hindi rin nasasaayos yung privileges niya as a parent or as father of Gab. Yun ang malungkot. Since I think Grace is already here in Manila... pero aalis din siya after her birthday, after January 16. Sana magkausap nga sila ni Jolo nung set-up nga ng paghiram [kay Gab], ganun," Mercado said. Despite these ugly sentiments, Mercado said she will not interfere with the affairs of Jolo. "Ayokong panghimasukan dahil wala akong lugar dun. Ang mahalaga kay Jolo, mabisita ang anak niya.
