Ogie says marriage with Michelle still intact

Singer-composer Ogie Alcasid on Saturday denied reports that his marriage with Michelle Van Eimeren has been annulled. He, however, declined to answer the status of his relationship with the former Australian beauty queen. "Hindi totoo yun na na-annul na ako," Alcasid told Joey de Leon in a live interview with GMA7's Startalk. "Hanggang dun na lang muna tayo," Alcasid said when asked if his relationship with his wife is still good. He reiterated: "OK kami. Pwede hanggang dun na lang." Alcasid also did not answer questions on how his family, who are staying in Australia, is taking intrigues that he is having a romantic relationship with Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez. But he said he is happy with his life now. The singer-composer also said he will be making an announcement sometime in June this year. When asked why he still had to wait until June, Alcasid said there are so many things he had to prepare. "Alam ko naman na marami din ang interesado sa nangyayari sa akin kaya nararapat na ako ay maging honest at maging makatotohanan sa mga nangyayari sa akin," he said. He said the announcement has nothing to do with "June bride" to dispel talk he would confirm his reported romance with Velasquez. "Ito (announcement) ay tungkol sa akin," Alcasid. He also requested that Velasquez be spared from intrigues. He admitted, though, that Regine is his inspiration and he feels happy when he is with her. "Wag na natin muna i-involved si Regine kasi alam naman ng lahat na kapag kasama ko si Regine ako'y masaya, ako'y happy. Inspirasyon ko siya," Alcasid said. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
