Actress Sarah Lahbati back in the PHL, ready to face libel charges

Actress Sarah Lahbati returned to the Philippines Thursday evening and said she is ready to face libel charges pending in a Makati court.

She flew in on Etihad flight 428 from Abu Dhabi, which landed at around 11:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, GMA News' Nelson Canlas reported on GMA's Unang Hirit.



The warrant of arrest issued by the Makati court stemmed from a libel complaint filed by GMA Films president Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar based on a series of tweets by Lahbati aimed at Abrogar.

The actress was spare in her comments upon her arrival, but in response to questions from Canlas, she said  she was aware of the warrant of arrest against her, and that she was ready to face the charges.

According to a report aired on GMA 7 morning program "Unang Hirit," Lahbati was accompanied on the flight by her boyfriend, actor-model Richard Gutierrez .  — DVM/ELR, GMA News
