Krystal Reyes on girl bonding, fashion and chick literature

  Krystal Reyes is one of the three lead actresses in GMA's primetime series, Anna Karenina. Her character, Anna is modest, caring and vulnerable at times. Krystal considers herself more free-spirited than her on-screen persona. Find out what she enjoys doing during her spare time. After the Anna Karenina live chat last July 16, Krystal sat down for an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com. We asked the baby-faced actress how she finds her role as Anna. She mentioned that she has already adjusted to her character. However, she is still trying to experiment with her acting range when it comes to dramatic scenes. “Dun lang po ako medyo nahirapan kasi si Anna, walang ginawa kung hindi umiyak nang umiyak,” Krystal explained. Krystal also described her friendship with co-stars Barbie Forteza and Joyce Ching as “solid”, though things were a bit awkward at first. “Nakasama ko na po si Joyce sa Munting Heredera, pero si Barbie, hindi ko pa siya ganung nakakasama. Pero ‘nung nag-start na ‘yung show, sobrang tahimik ko po at parang medyo nahihiya pa ako. Hindi ko alam kung makakasabay ako sa friendship nilang dalawa,” Krystal shared. It surprised Krystal that it did not take long for her to get along with Barbie and Joyce. They even have girl bonding sessions once in a while. “Nagkaroon sila ng goal sa akin na kailangan, bago matapos ‘yung show, maingay na ako. One week pa lang po, sobrang ingay ko na, kaya po naging sobrang okay kaming tatlo,” she recalled. She has also found a friend in her loveteam, Julian Trono, who plays Brix in Anna Karenina. Krystal is very comfortable working with him because they were acquaintances before the show started. “Hindi na kami nag-adjust ng bonggang bongga kasi bago pa nag-start yung show, nagkasama kami sa isang workshop. Nakapagkuwentuhan na kami, kaya naging okay na kami,” stated Krystal. When she’s not taping or studying, Krystal’s guilty pleasure is watching Korean dramas and listening to KPop. “Sobrang mahilig po ako manood ng Korean dramas. Ang favorite ko po kasing band, yung CNBlue. May inaabangan nga po akong drama nila, kasi hindi natuloy dahil nag World Tour sila,” Krystal said. She added, “Ngayon po, ang pinapanood ko, ‘yung I Can Hear Your Voice. Parang naririnig niya yung mga sinasabi ‘nung isip ng iba.” When it comes to fashion, Krystal is a minimalist. What makes her outfits more stylish? Fabulous shoes, of course! “Ako naman po, sa sapatos talaga ako mahilig. Feeling ko, kahit naka simpleng dress ka lang, kung bongga ‘yung sapatos mo, okay ka na. Sa pagporma, ang nagdadala talaga ay sapatos,” Krystal elaborates. Though not much of a movie buff, Krystal is a certified book worm. She explained, “Mas mahilig po akong magbasa ng libro kaysa manood ng movies kasi ‘pag nanonood ako ng movie parang ang bilis, tapos na agad. ‘Pag libro, ang haba, ang tagal kong babasahin at saka puwede akong mag-stop kung ayaw ko pang tapusin.” Krystal confessed that she is a huge fan of chick literature. “Ang favorite ko po ay I’ve Got Your Number ni Sophie Kinsella.
