MTRCB summons Ryzza Mae Show, Eat Bulaga producers over child-unfriendly scenes

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board has summoned producers of the TV shows "Eat Bulaga" and "The Ryzza Mae Show" over allegedly child-unfriendly scenes last July and August. In posts on its Twitter account, the MTRCB also said it has scheduled a mandatory conference for "Eat Bulaga" and "The Ryzza Mae Show" for Thursday. For "Eat Bulaga", the MTRCB was concerned over a July 29 episode where a host "spat juice into the face" of child actress and host Ryzza Mae Dizon. As for the "Ryzza Mae Show", an August 14 episode had a guest tell Dizon, "landing bata ka," and the child "asked the guest not to be harsh on her." "These scenes palpably violate the dignity of the child and have to be addressed by the show's producer TAPE Inc., as well as GMA Channel 7 over which the said shows air," the MTRCB said. The Board hoped for the cooperation of all concerned in "finding out what caused these scenes, who are responsible therefor, and what immediate and concrete measures can be done so they do not happen again." — DVM, GMA News
