Lucy Torres-Gomez gives marriage advice to Marian Rivera

 
Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres-Gomez are one of the most admired married couples in showbiz. The pair have been together for 16 years and are proud parents to 14-year-old daughter, Juliana. 
 
Besides being a guest judge for the Celebrity Showdance segment of Marian, Lucy also had a heart-to-heart talk about wedding preparations and married life.
 
Lucy shared that in preparing for her wedding, Richard gave her a free hand. She chose everything and recalled that their wedding motif was powder blue and silver.
 
She told the Primetime Queen, “It’s really a fun time for any girl’s life, so namnamin mo talaga. You are in that stage now. Namnamin mo, kasi by the time na ikakasal kayo, panibago ang chapter ng buhay niyo, so you adjust to being a housewife na araw-araw kayo magkasama, pero ang saya lang.”
 
Marian asked Lucy how she deals with all the women who admire her good-looking husband.
 
Lucy answered, “Hindi talaga mawawala iyan, kaya ihanda mo ang sarili mo. I always say kasi na ang advantage kasi ng lalaki over a girl is, ‘yung lalaki, as they age, as they mature, mas lalo sila gumu-guwapo, while tayong mga babae, we reach a peak and then after that, we have to work at it.”
 
She added, “In terms of nag-asawa ka ng guwapo, isipin mo na lang na sa dami naman ng puwede niyang piliin para maging asawa niya, ikaw ‘yung pinili, ‘di ba?”

Was there any point in their relationship that she almost gave up?
 
“Meron din, kasi siyempre 16 years [kami]. Everyday kayo magkasama. I always say na every couple, hindi lang lovers. You also have to be the best of friends kasi lagi kong sinasabi kay Richard, one day, ‘pag 85 na kami, tapos kulu-kulubot na, ‘pag nawala ‘yung looks, it’s important na something holds you together. That’s the friendship that you have,” stated Lucy.
 
What advice could she give to Marian, who will soon be wed to Dingdong Dantes?
 
“Just be yourself. Make him your best friend and huwag kayo magtago ng sikreto. I am able to tell Richard everything, siya rin. Ang pundasyon niyo talaga is the time you spend together and the memories you make kasi ‘pag nasanay kayo na lagi kayong busy sa ginagawa niyo individually, hindi niyo na hahanapin.
