Pasay City flags to fly half-mast for its late first lady Elaine Cuneta
Flags in Pasay City, especially those at local government offices, will fly at half mast to mourn the death of its former first lady Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, the mother of Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
City Mayor Antonino Calixto ordered the flags flown at half-mast to honor Cuneta, who is credited as the city's first volunteer tourism officer, radio dzBB's Manny Vargas reported Thursday.
The report said Cuneta, who died Wednesday at age 79, was credited for making Pasay a "travel city."
Mrs. Cuneta, wife of former mayor Pablo Cuneta and known in showbiz circles as Mommy Elaine, passed away on Wednesday at age 79.
She has had health struggles, with granddaughter KC Concepcion posting photos of her visiting her.
Mrs. Cuneta is a former beauty queen, singer, and actress. She had two children with former Mayor Cuneta, who she married in 1993.
She is also the sister of actress Helen Gamboa-Sotto.
For his part, Sen. Vicente Sotto III confirmed Elaine was pronounced dead at 12:06 p.m. because of profuse bleeding and other internal complications. —Joel Locsin/KG, GMA News
