Fil-Am dancer is newest Pussycat Dolls member
Asia Nitollano was hailed as the newest member of the popular all-female group Pussycat Dolls last Tuesday, April 24, by besting other hopefuls in the reality-show The Pussycat Dolls Presents: The Search for the Next Doll. Asia has a Filipino blood as her father is half-Filipino, the King of Latin R&B Joe Bataan. Asia is an 18 year-old single mom and a Knick City dancer before she joined the competition. And as a winner, she will be the youngest and second Filipino-blooded member of the said dance group, next to Pussycat Dolls's lead vocalist Nicole Scherzinger. Meanwhile, first-runner up Melissa Anne Leoni Reyes is another Filipina who has joined the contest. However, unlike Asia, Melissa is a pure Filipino since her parents, Tony and Belle, are natives of Baliuag, Bulacan. Pussycat Dolls popularized the song "Don't Cha," "Stickwitu," "Buttons," and I Don't Need a Man." They also had a successful tour in the Philippines last year. - Philippine Entertainment Portal
