Filipina MJ Lastimosa among Miss Universe candidates introduced in Florida event

The 88 candidates of the 63rd Miss Universe Pageant were formally introduced to the public last Friday in a “pink-carpet” event at the Downtown Doral Park in Doral City, Florida.

 

Among the candidates was a confidently smiling Filipina, 27-year-old Mary Jean Lastimosa, who wore a glittering golden long gown.

“First time namin mag-appear in front of the audience as the official Miss Universe candidates,” Lastimos told GMA News, just a few minutes after she left the stage.

 

“Kanina, habang rumarampa ako, gusto ko lang ipakita sa buong mundo kung gaano kaganda ang Pilipinas... So sana, po, na-appreciate nila 'yun at nakita nila,” added the North Cotabato native.

 

Also present during Friday's event was businessman and television personality Donald Trump, Doral City Mayor Luigi Boria, and reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler.
