Sugar Mercado in the red; evicted from condo unit

Dancer and television host Sugar Mercado was evicted from her rented condominium unit for failing to pay her monthly dues. She is now staying at the house of a candidate she is supporting. In an interview on Saturday, Sugar, in between sobs, admitted to Startalk host Joey de Leon that she was experiencing financial difficulty, hardly making both ends meet as she supports her family in Cavite and pays for her car. “Nahihirapan akong magbayad (ng condo) kasi hindi naman po regular yung show ko po sa gabi. Kasi po binabayaran ko yung kotse ko tapos panggastos namin sa Cavite, yung mga kamag-anak ko po," she said. Sugar needs to pay P10,000 a month for the condo unit. She said she slept in her car for two days after she left her condo while her mother returned to their house in Cavite. Sugar is a co-host in Eat Bulaga!. She is also a performer in comedy bars, such as Klownz owned by comedian Allan K. Despite her hardship, Sugar said she is optimistic that she will be able to find a new cheaper home soon.“Makakahanap din po ako ng bahay, ng malilipatan po," she said. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
