Korean says Mark Lapid is her hubby, kid's pa

A Korean woman belied the claim of Mark Lapid that he is an unmarried man, saying she is the Pampanga governor's wife and mother of his first child, GMA's 24-Oras reported Tuesday. In an electronic mail sent to GMA News, Yuri Park said Lapid's child with Filipino actress Tanya Garcia is not his first because he fathered a baby girl with her, more than a year ago. Park also sent GMA-7 copies of their family pictures -- she, Mark and their child. Park said Lapid courted her in 2004 and they got married in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 31, 2005. "It was a quick marriage. He told me he has no time, he has a lot of work," she said. She gave birth to their child on September 22. 2005 and only last October, she said the three of them went to Hong Kong for a vacation. Park said she kept mum about their relationship because Lapid asked her not to reveal anything about it. "He asked me to keep our marriage secret until the 2007 elections because a lot of women voters in Pampanga are crazy about him. It was for my husband's future and our future so I just lived silently," she said. On February 9, however, Lapid asked Park to fly to Hong Kong and asked her for a divorce. She said Lapid filed the divorce on February 12. A week later, Garcia admitted that she was heavy with the governor's child. "I cried a lot. I didn't know what to do with the baby. He always insists he is an honest person but he is such a liar," she said. Park said she had no intention of surfacing but she finally decided to do so after Lapid denied their child. Meanwhile, Lapid's camp refused to issue any comment until they go through all the accusations. "The governor opts not to comment on the issue at the moment. He will give a statement as soon as he reads the allegations of a certain Ms Park," said an aide of Lapid, in a text message sent to GMA News. - Amita, Legaspi, GMANews.TV
