Ed Sheeran arrives in Manila for his first concert in PHL
British artist Ed Sheeran arrived in Manila on Wednesday afternoon for his first concert in the Philippines.
According to a report on "24 Oras," the singer-songwriter arrived in Manila around 5 p.m. to screaming Filipino "Sheerios," the name of his fanbase.
He is expected to serenade the crowd at Mall of AsiaArena tomorrow evening as part of x tour to promote his sophomore album, "x" (read as multiply) which has his latest hit "Thinking Out Loud".
For this tour, Sheeran is expected to be alone on stage with just his guitar and looper.
The 24-year-old multi-instrumentalist is the artist behind hits "The A Team," "Lego House," and "Give Me Love."
Sheeran bagged the British Breakthrough Act and British Solo Male Artist awards at the Brit Awards in 2012. This year, his newest album won the British Album of the Year at the Brit Awards.
After Sheeran, other British acts are also expected to perform in the Philippines this year include One Direction and Sam Smith. — Trisha Macas/ELR, GMA News
