The songbird stars in "The Regine Series," a five-mall mini-concert series that kicked off last Sunday at Robinson's Magnolia.
The front acts were three of Regine's popular impersonators—Ate Reg, Regina Otic and Anton Diva—who wowed the full-packed crowd as they dished out songs that the songbird popularized.
When Regine was called on stage, the crowd went wild as she hit her first note.
After serenading her fans with a dozen or so songs, Regine called back her three impersonators back on stage and did a number with them to end the show.
"I'm so happy that I was given the chance again to do mini-concerts like this—very intimate, [with] less pressure because I can sing the songs that I want," she said.
But there will be no mini-concert for Regine next Sunday.
Her next mall show is scheduled on July 4.
This coming Sunday, Regine will celebrate Father's Day by visiting the grave of her late father, Mang Gerry.
"I miss my Dad terribly. This is our second Father's Day without him. Last year, we also visited him and we had a picnic right beside his grave," Regine said.
Father's Day has always been special for Regine even when Mang Gerry was still around.
