Mocha Girls home after 5-day detention in Malaysia

Members of the all-girls pop group Mocha Girls are back in the Philippines after their five-day detention in Malaysia last week.

The group said they may file complaints for their experience during their detention.

The girls also recounted to GMA News their ordeal during five-day detention.

"Na-trauma kami kasi hindi naman namin ini-expect na ikukulong kami noong gabing iyon. Tinanggalan kami ng basic human rights," Mocha Uson, the leader of the group, told GMA News in an interview upon their arrival from Malaysia.

Uson told GMA News' Bam Alegre that they were not allowed to weak even slippers and were made to sleep on the floor of their detention cell, where 40 other people were detained.

The Mocha Girls were arrrested and detained last September 4 for performing without the necessary permit.

The Department of Foreign Affairs had said that the Malaysian immigration has decided not to file charges against the group, and instead just fined them.

Another member of the group, former EB Babe Mae dela Cerna also recalled to GMA News their experience.

"Noong natutulong na ako, sinipa ako sa baba kasi iyong higa alernate, ulo, paa," she said.

Uson also showed GMA News a small plastic, which they used to store and drink water from.

The group said they were still studying their legal move regarding their traumatic experience.

Meanwhile, the group's manager, Bryan Cristobal, cautioned other Filipino artists who are being offered to do shows in Malaysia.

"Wag kayong magtiwala kaagad 'pag sinabi sa inyo ng mga employer, producer ninyo na okay na ang visa ninyo," he said. "Siguraduhin ninyong hawak ninyo ang passport at mismong nandoon ang tatak." —ALG, GMA News
