After losing SUV, actress Shirley Fuentes figures in car chase

Actress Shirley Fuentes figured in a car chase before dawn Monday in Manila City, less than a week after she lost her sport utility vehicle to car thieves. Radio dzRH reported that Fuentes and a driver companion, initially identified as Harvey Nero, ran several red lights along España Avenue. Upon learning of the violation, five mobile patrol vehicles chased them. Fuentes and Nero were in a BMW Classic Series 3 luxury vehicle when they engaged policemen in a chase from the Mabuhay Rotonda at the boundary of Manila and Quezon City to Lerma Street in Sampaloc. When the BMW finally stopped at Lerma Street after the Manila Police District called for backup, Nero even alighted from the BMW and claimed that he is a driver of Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri. The dzRH report said Fuentes and Nero were detained at the office of the MPD Mobile Patrol Group at MPD headquarters for an hour before they were issued tickets and released. Last October 3, Fuentes lost her Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle to three masked men who beat up her driver and helper in the process. Radio dzBB reported that the incident took place near Fuentes's house in St. Francis village in Bulacan province, where she dropped by to get some things. Initial reports showed that while Fuentes was inside the house, the three men arrived in a black Mitsubishi Adventure and had driver Ricardo Dignos get off the CR-V at gunpoint. The men also beat up Ronaldo Bastado, a helper of Fuentes, before driving off in the CR-V (XHX-573). - GMANews.TV
