Ice Seguerra gets egg retrieval in bid for baby with wife Liza

Couple Liza Diño and Ice Seguarra have begun the process of having a child through in vitro fertilization.

In a series of posts on Instagram, Diño said Seguerra has undergone an egg retrieval process.

In a post on Thursday night, she shared that the harvest process "wasn't easy" at first.

It wasn't easy actually. For the first 4 days, Ice's eggs are not growing and his right ovary is not producing eggs significant enough to be harvested so natakot kami ng slight kasi baka hindi enough yung maharvest and for a time ako yung natatakot na baka hindi magrespond yung body nya sa meds. But ito na nga, finally, nagstart mag grow ng eggs nung mga 6th until we got to this day. Sobrang salamat talaga Lord kasi naniniwala kami na if it's meant to be, mangyayari at mangyayari. Ok. I'm rambling i know. Pasensya na guys. Matagal -tagal na rin akong hindi ganito ka-candid. I mean, i used to be a lot more open and vocal about my feelings but a lot has changed since I became a public servant. But at this very moment, I'm shamelessly asking for your PRAYERS and POSITIVITY para maging successful yung harvest process nya. Salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta sa marriage namin ni Ice at sa naniwala na we can live our lives like normal families. This is a big step for us and I just hope that everyone gives their love and support.

Diño's next post showed Seguerra after the procedure, saying he was still "groggy" from the anesthesia.

"Ice, still groggy from the anesthesia after the egg retrieval process, finally opens his eyes and the first thing he says is "I'm hungry!" Yup, he's awake na nga!" Diño wrote.

The singer and former National Youth Commission chairperson, who had come out as a transgender man, tied the knot with Diño in December 2014.

They had earlier deferred their plan to expand their family through IVF, citing the million-peso cost of the procedures.

Now that they have taken the "big step," the couple expressed gratitude to those who offered prayers and positivity for the harvest process.

"Salamat sa lahat ng sumuporta sa marriage namin ni Ice at sa naniwala na we can live our lives like normal families," Diño wrote in one of her posts.

"This is a big step for us and I just hope that everyone gives their love and support," she added.
