Eddie Garcia under DNR status, says spokesperson

The family of veteran actor Eddie Garcia has not authorized the withdrawal of life support according to the family spokesperson, GMA News' JP Soriano reported.

"Please be informed that the family of Mr. Eddie Garcia has not authorized nor has it consented to withdrawal of life support," Dr. Tony Rebosa said on Friday evening.

"They have however agree to place him on DNR (do-not-resuscitate) status. Thank you," he added.

Garcia has been in the hospital the past few days following an incident while shooting for a TV series.

On Sunday, his doctors said Garcia was in critical condition due to cervical fracture.

As of 1 p.m. on Thursday, the veteran actor was "still in a comatose state" and was "dependent" on a ventilator and medications to support his blood pressure. — BAP, GMA News
