Laguardia reappointed as MTRCB chief

Malacanang announced on Thursday the reappointment by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of Ma. Consoliza Laguardia as chairperson of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), along with the appointment of six others to various government posts. Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said the appointment paper of Laguardia was signed by the President last October 30. Laguardia has been MTRCB chief since March 2003. She had been MTRCB member from March 2001 until her appointment as head of the agency. Aside from Laguardia, Ermita said the President also appointed Salick Panda as undersecretary at the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (Opapp). The other new appointees are Francisco Magsajo Jr. as acting president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Philippine Export-Import Credit Agency (Philexim) under the Department of Finance; Virgilio Angelo, member representing the private sector and chairman of the board of directors for the Small Business Guarantee and Finance Corp. under the Department of Trade and Industry; Mark Allan Jay Yambao, assistant secretary at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); Robert del Rosario, member of the board of directors and president and CEO of Intercontinental Broadcasting Corp. (IBC) 13; and Rodrigo Cabrera, member of the board of directors of IBC 13. - Sun.Star
