Gloria Diaz: There's no need for me to get married again

Wala pa ring kupas ang dating Miss Universe na si Gloria Diaz when it comes to her beauty, wit, and intelligence. Nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Gloria sa second presscon ng 2007 Metro Manila Film Festival entry na Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo (SSS) ng Star Cinema kagabi, December 17, sa 9501 restaurant ng ABS-CBN. Dahil umiikot ang kuwento ng SSS sa pagpapakasal at pagsasama ng dalawang taong dumaan sa matrimonya ng kasal, naitanong kay Gloria kung sa tingin ba niya ay may formula sa isang successful marriage. Like sa case niya who married Bong Daza but they separated after only a short while. "Well, I think, sa marriage, compromise ‘yan," sabi ni Gloria. "Like on my part, we've [she and Bong] known each other for 10 years, but we're together for...what, two months? Well, for two years kasi, we've been separated for 13 times." Dagdag niya, "But you know, I only married once, yun pa lang. And my ex-husband, we're friends. Mas okay kami. Mas nagkakausap." Bakit after her first marriage ay tila hindi na rin yata siya nag-attempt na magpakasal pang muli? Would she say na na-traumatize na siya with the first one? "No..no...no!" tanggi ni Gloria. "My kids are young. There's no need for me to get married again. They are too young and I don't want to complicate their lives, di ba? Maya't maya you'll introduce to them a new man in your life. They will get confuse. Who's their dad? Pakikisamahan nila... It's hard enough to make pakisama with their dad and to make pakisama again with a new man again." Idiniin din ni Gloria na choice man daw niyang hindi na magpakasal pa. But she never closes her door naman daw for the possibility na muling magpakasal in the future. "Of course, but there's no need for the moment as long as I'm working. Sometimes, you get married because you really need somebody to take care of you. So far, okay naman ako," sabi niya. Ayon pa kay Gloria, hindi pa rin daw nawawala ang paniniwala niya sa kasal. "I believe in marriage because it's very stable and I like stability. But, my priority are my children for them not to get confused na paiba-ibang asawa. You know, it's difficult on who will they call their father, who will they be with on Christmas, on the wedding... Mahirap ‘yon, di ba, when you have a second husband? So far, it's okay, good," paliwanag ng kauna-unahang Pinay na naging Miss Universe. Sa huli, tinanong din ng PEP kay Gloria kung ano ang estado ng lovelife niya ngayon? Na ayon nga sa kanya, 12 years na rin since she got separated and it took her a long time bago umibig muli. "Very good," sagot niya. "I've been with somebody for 10 years but he's not with movie or anything. So, okay lang sa kanya. Actually, I waited mga two and half years before I started to have a date again. And it took me a long time to choose. Mahirap yung papalit-palit. "But I have many friends, but I was not close to them or intimate. Kasi I'm not the type of a person na papalit-palit.
