Ray-An Fuentes' wife succumbs after getting COVID-19

Weeks after announcing that nearly his entire family tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), OPM singer Ray-An Fuentes on Monday said that his wife Mei-ling had died.

“My sweetie has gone home! For good at 4:15 p.m.,” the Canada-based Fuentes said in a Facebook post.

“We finally just had to release her to the Lord because the other possible reality is brain damage. We didn’t want her to suffer anymore.”

The singer said he was “heartbroken” at the “painful” loss of his wife.

Fuentes earlier announced that his entire family, save for his eldest son, contracted COVID-19.

It was Mei-ling who was hit the hardest.

She was admitted to the intensive care unit and was hooked to a ventilator, according to Fuentes.

“She is still on a ventilator because she is so sick - the sickest one in the ICU right now,” Fuentes said in early December.

The singer and his family moved to Canada in the 1990s. -NB, GMA News
