Tuesday Vargas tests positive for COVID-19 for the second time

Tuesday Vargas has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) for the second time.

In her latest vlog post, the comedian revealed that she has tested positive anew for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

"Pangalawang COVID-19 ko na ito. I tested positive in May 2021, tapos ngayon ulit," she said in the video,

"Pray for us guys, ipagdarasal ko rin lahat ng mga may pinagdadaanan na sakit ngayon," she added.

Tuesday first contracted the virus in May 2021 when she was not yet vaccinated.

The comedian said some of the symptoms she has experienced are fever, chills, cough, sore throat, loose bowel movement (LBM), headache, and night sweats.

The "All-Out Sundays" star said her partner Joseph Puducay and her son Kaya both tested positive for COVID-19.

Tuesday said the moral of the story is that "it's good that the cases went down in December….But that doesn't give us license to be relaxed, let go of the protocols…Ito 'yung singil sa pagiging complacent."

In the video, Tuesday also narrated how she started to feel her COVID-19 symptoms days after they arrived in Boracay Island for vacation with her family.

"We arrived on December 30th, we didn't know there were people who arrived before us that weren't feeling well, we came in close contact with them on the 31st," she narrated.

"On January 2, in the evening, 'yun na. I woke up in the middle of the night with a slight fever. On January 4 we got home, we got tested, antigen muna, we all tested negative dito sa bahay,” she shared.

"Dahil lahat kaming tatlo - Kaya, JP, and me were feeling something - kumakati ang lalamunan namin, so we decided mag-isolate muna kami," she added.

"On January 5, we got tested on antigen, we were all negative. On January 6th we tested positive on the antigen," she said.

"We got an RT-PCR right then and there na drive-through lang. Thank you so much to GMA for facilitating that for us," she added.

Tuesday reminded and warned her followers that “Coronavirus is still present in our communities, ngayon madali siya makahawa, please be vigilant, keep your families healthy, don't go out of your bubbles.”

Tuesday said the difference from the first time she tested positive and now is that she "bounced back more quickly" this time around.

"Sobrang feel na feel ko 'yung pagkakaiba ng bakunado at hindi," she said.

"You know your body better than anyone, so alam mo talaga 'yung difference ng may extra layer of protection but that doesn't exclude you from potentially spreading it," she said. "Dapat mag-ingat pa rin tayo.”

Aside from sharing her experience, Tuesday warned people that the vaccine "doesn't shield you 100 percent from the virus kaya dapat mag-ingat talaga."

"Masarap lumabas at magbakasyon pero hindi natin dapat kalimutan na may pinoprotektahan na pamilya at komunidad," she said.

"Sana ligtas kayo lahat, I'm sending you love and light wherever you are," she added.

Tuesday also urged people to stop the stigma on COVID-19.

"Please do not feel ashamed or disappointed in yourself if you ever test positive and you feel unwell if you've done everything to protect yourself," she said.

"Stop COVID-19 shaming, 'wag na po tayong magsisihan, magtulungan na lang po tayo. Be easy on yourself, take care of yourself, and stop COVID-19 shaming," she added.

"Stay healthy, God bless, I hope everybody will recover from this."
Aside from Tuesday, other celebrities who tested positive for COVID-19 include Miss Globe 2021 Maureen Montagne, Pia Wurtzbach, Arnold Clavio, and Candy Pangilinan who also contracted the virus for the second time around. —JAB, GMA News.
