Palace says Arroyo praying for Kris Aquino

MANILA, Philippines - Malacanang on Tuesday said that President Arroyo is praying for television talk show host Kris Aquino, who suffered a miscarriage. The younger Aquino's miscarrriage was learned Tuesday, a day after the TV host announced that her mother, former president Corazon Aquino, is suffering from colon cancer. The presidential message was sent to reporters by Presidential Management Staff director general Cerge Remonde. In a text message, he said: “The President prays for Kris, especially owing to the fact that she campaigned for her in the 2004 elections." For her part, deputy presidential spokeswoman Lorelei Fajardo said in another text message that the news of Kris Aquino's miscarriage was “a sad news." “We extend our prayers to Kris and her lost child," Fajardo said. Earlier reports said Aquino was seven and a half weeks pregnant with her second child to basketball player James Yap. She was also quoted as saying that the miscarriage could be 'God's will' so that she could take care of her sick mother. Ms. Aquino has two sons - Joshua, with her former live-in-partner, actor Philip Salvador, and James, by Yap. - GMANews.TV
