Marian Rivera on Dingdong Dantes’ MIFF Best Actor win: ‘Deserve talaga niya dahil napakahusay niya’

Marian Rivera couldn’t be prouder of her husband, Dingdong Dantes, after he received the Best Actor award at the inaugural Manila International Film Festival (MIFF) for his role in “Rewind.”

In Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Friday, the Kapuso Primetime Queen said that she really prayed for Dingdong to get the award.

“Sinabi ko talaga sa kaniya, pinagpe-pray ko talaga na manalo siya kasi deserve talaga niya dahil napakahusay niya talaga sa ‘Rewind,’” Marian said.

She continued, “Sabi ko nga, true enough, sabi ko, pinagpala tayo, pinagbigyan tayo ni Lord, nanalo ka.”

Marian and their fellow stars also surprised Dingdong on the set of "Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa” with a congratulatory banner and balloons.

Dingdong dedicated the award to Marian, saying she and their kids are his inspiration “especially in this challenging grind in the entertainment industry.”

Aside from "Rewind," Dingdong starred in GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs' "Firefly," which won Best Picture in both MMFF and MIFF.

Dingdong and Marian currently star in their sitcom "Jose and Maria's Bonggang Villa," which is now in its second season. It airs Saturdays at 6:15 p.m. after "24 Oras Weekend." —Carby Basina/LDF,GMA Integrated News
