Rufa Mae Quinto on reported death of husband: 'We are still gathering factual information'

Rufa Mae Quinto has spoken up after the reported death of her husband, Trevor Magallanes.

On Instagram, the Kapuso comedienne shared some snaps of herself and Trevor and later edited the post with a lengthy statement.

"I'm deeply saddened by this development. Hope you give us time to mourn his loss especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get thru this by the help of God," Rufa wrote.

"We are still gathering factual information about his death. Even us or his immediate family are still verifying what happened. So we kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death," she added.

Rufa said she and their daughter Athena will be flying to the United States on Friday. She asked the public to wait for an official announcement about Trevor, which will come only from her or their family and not from any other source.

"Thank you very much and please give us respect and pray for us in this time of trial. Hanggang sa huli. Hanggang sa muli. Mahal kita Trev," Rufa wrote.

Rufa and Trevor got married in 2016. A year later, they welcomed their daughter Athena.

In January, Rufa said that she and Trevor were going through a rough patch but she had no plans to file for divorce.

In May, Rufa said that she and Trevor remain married but, "Ayaw na rin niya, so ayaw ko na rin at ginagalang ko 'yun."
