Jeremiah vocalist Piwee Polintan passes away
Jeremiah vocalist Piwee Polintan has passed away.
Polintan's passing was announced by the band in a Facebook post on Tuesday, October 28.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Piwee Polintan, beloved vocalist of the band Jeremiah,” the band wrote.
In their tribute post, the OPM band described Piwee as “an exceptional artist whose voice and passion touched the hearts of many.”
“Beyond his music, he was a cherished friend, a loving soul, and a brother to us all. His legacy will live on through the songs and memories he shared with the world,” the band said.
The band also extended its deepest gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, support, and love during his time of illness.
“Please continue to keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. May his soul rest in eternal peace."
Previously, Jeremiah announced that Piwee suffered a stroke on October 23.
Launched in 1998, Jeremiah was the hitmaker behind the songs “Bakit Ka Iiyak?" "Nanghihinayang," "Kahit Anong Mangyari,” and “Basta’t Ikaw,” among others.
