Who was Vanessa Blanca? Remembering the Sugarpop member, 'DOTA O Ako' singer
Vanessa Blanca is remembered by the people who knew her from her early days in show business, particularly her former Sugarpop groupmates and her "DOTA O Ako" collaborator Aikee.
Born on December 6, 1995, Vanessa became a member of the pre-teen singing group Sugarpop, where she performed alongside Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Daniela, Enzo Almario, and Cholo Bismonte.
She was also known as one of the singers of "DOTA O Ako," which she performed with Aikee.
Years after her Sugarpop days, Vanessa remained connected with her former groupmates, as seen in their tributes following her death.
The messages showed that Vanessa remained a warm and beloved presence in their lives, with their posts reflecting the bond they continued to share years after their Sugarpop days.
Julie Anne, in an Instagram Story, recalled their plans to reunite as a group.
"Still can't believe it. We were planning to have a reunion. Sugarpop will never be the same without you. Rest in Heaven, Wani," Julie Anne wrote.
Cholo, meanwhile, shared a song that the five Sugarpop members had performed together.
"The first Tagalog song that the five of us sang. We love you so much, Wani. It still hurts so much," he said.
Enzo also shared a screenshot of their group conversation, showing Vanessa greeting her former groupmates on New Year.
"Sad that this will never happen anymore. Gone too soon my Sagittarius and co-bunso sister," Enzo wrote.
Rita, for her part, reposted the announcement of Vanessa's wake and funeral arrangements.
Aikee also paid tribute to his former "DOTA O Ako" partner by sharing several photos and videos of them together.
"I love my partner so much. She will remain in my heart. One of the genuine and loving siblings!" Aikee wrote in Filipino.
