PEP: Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan adds spice to daytime viewing


GMA-7's newest Sine Novela, Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan, premiered yesterday (June 23) with a modest 19.8 percent rating, which is good for No. 4 overall in the daytime race. The top spot was occupied the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga! with 23.3 percent, thanks to the suspension of classes due to typhoon Frank. It was followed by Daisy Siete with 22.9 percent and Magdusa Ka with 22.7 percent. Completing the Top 5 is Wowowee with 15.9 percent. The rerun of the original version of the Mexican telenovela Marimar, starring Thalia, premiered at No. 6 with 15.6 percent. As expected, Dyesebel once again ruled the primetime race with 40.5 percent. Coming in second to fourth are fellow Kapuso shows Joaquin Bordado, 24 Oras, and Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita. The fifth place was occupied by ABS-CBN's The Singing Bee. Four other Kapamilya shows–Lobo, My Girl, TV Patrol World, and Pinoy Dream Academy–were ranked sixth to ninth. Occupying the last slot in the Top 10 is GMA-7 Koreanovela Dalja's Spring. Dyesebel also topped the primetime race last Friday, June 20, with 41.9 percent; followed by Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita (37.4 percent), Joaquin Bordado (35.7 percent), 24 Oras (29.3 percent), and The Singing Bee (23.5 percent). Magdusa Ka grabbed the top position in the daytime race with 21.9 percent; closely followed by Daisy Siete with 21.4 percent and Eat Bulaga! with 21.3 percent. Rival showbiz talk shows Showbiz Central and The Buzz grabbed the first and second slots in the daytime race last Sunday, June 22. Showbiz Central posted a rating of 17.6 percent versus The Buzz's 17.3 percent. An update about "Bagyong Frank" on GMA-7's Flash Report took the third place with 16.8 percent; followed by Your Song and Pinoy Idol Extra to complete the Top 5. Occupying the remaining Top 10 slots are Tasya Fantasya, SOP, ASAP '08, Jungle TV, and Gaby's Extraordinary Files. Meanwhile, Mel & Joey grabbed the top spot during the primetime race with 27 percent while the results night of Pinoy Idol a close second with 26.9 percent. Kap's Amazing Stories (26.7 percent), All Star K (26.1 percent), and Rated K (23.2 percent) completed the Top 5. The remaining Top 10 slots were occupied by Goin' Bulilit, Pinoy Dream Academy, Kapusolympics, TV Patrol World, and Sharon. Saturday (June 21) daytime viewing was ruled by Wish Ko Lang with 25.1 percent, edging out perennial frontrunner Eat Bulaga! with 23.5 percent. Completing the Top 5 are Pinoy Records (21.2 percent), Jungle TV (18.4 percent), and Wowowee (16.7 percent). Finally, Bitoy's Funniest Videos became the highest-rated primetime show with 31 percent. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho was in second place with 29.2 percent. Pinoy Dream Academy and Pinoy Idol took the third and fourth places with 25.3 percent ant 24.7 percent, respectively. Kapitan Boom completed the Top 5.
