PEP: 'Dyosa' enters rating contest gracefully
Anne Curtis's newest fantaserye, Dyosa, made a strong debut last night, August 11, as it entered the primetime race at No. 5 with an impressive 25.7 percent rating behind fellow ABS-CBN program, The Singing Bee. Dyosa's entry relegated Regine Velasquez's Ako Si Kim Samsoon to the 6th spot closely followed by My Girl's 24 percent rating. The Kapamilya Network's latest offering, however, still failed to deter the Top 2 primetime programs. Resting safely at the top, Marian Rivera's Dyesebel garnered a 37.4 percent grade followed by Richard Gutierrez's Codename: Asero, which amassed a total of 32.1 percent rating. Yesterday's daytime contest was ruled by Eat Bulaga! which gained a rating of 21.3 percent to dislodged Friday's leader Magdusa Ka. The country's longest-running noontime show's triumph likewise tempered Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan's winning run. Settling at second place, the afternoon drama series topbilled by Marvin Agustin, Diana Zubiri, and Camille Prats garnered 19.4 percentâa few percentages lower as compared to its 21.1 percent showing last Friday, August 8. The past weekend failed to deliver noticeable changes with Eat Bulaga! winning the top plum in the Saturday, August 9, daytime race based on the grit of its 20.7 percent rating. Trailing Vic Sotto and company was Wish Ko Lang (17.1 percent) and Pinoy Records (16.8 percent). Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho remained untouchable as primetime's top performer with a 26.8 percent rating to show. Dangerously lurking from behind was Bitoy's Funniest Video's with 26.7 percent. Reality talent search show Pinoy Dream Academy occupied the third spot with 25.9 percent rating. Sunday, August 10, showed ASAP '08 beating noontime musical-variety show rival SOP. ASAP '08 garnered a 15 percent rating against SOP's 13.4 percent clip. In the showbiz-talk show category, The Buzz asserted its presence by imposing a 10.2 percent grade to edge out rival Showbiz Central, which garnered a rating of 8.9 percent. Pinoy Idol's 20.8 percent, on the other hand, was enough to put the program on top and deflate Pinoy Dream Academy's fierce rally. PDA's 20.4 percent rating was followed by Mel & Joey's 19.9 percent while All Star K cornered 4th place with a 19.8 percent rating.
