PEP: Gagambino continues winning ways of Dyesebel

After almost six months on the air, GMA-7 telefantasya Dyesebel ended its run last Friday, October 17, still on top. Although Dyesebel failed to match Marimar's finale, which posted a rating of 52.6 percent, the second soap of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera managed to pull off 41.1 percent on its last night to lead all primetime programs. Throughout its entire airing, Dyesebel was dislodged from the No. 1 position only thrice: by Codename: Asero on September 8, Ako Si Kim Samsoon's finale on October 10, and La Lola's debut on October 13. The first week of La Lola ended on second week with 34.4 percent to grab the second place. This was followed by Codename: Asero (32.4 percent), 24 Oras (27.9 percent), and Survivor Philippines (26.6 percent). Dyosa, meanwhile, led all Kapamilya shows with its 24.3 percent to take the No. 6 position; followed by I Love Betty La Fea, TV Patrol World, Iisa Pa Lamang, and Family Feud. Dyesebel's timeslot was occupied by GMA-7's new telefantasya Gagambino, starring Dennis Trillo. Gagambino continued Dyesebel's winning tradition by topping the primetime race last night, October 20, with 34.5 percent. La Lola, Codename: Asero, 24 Oras, and Survivor Philippines maintained their positions (No. 2 to No. 5) to complete the domination of Kapuso shows. Five Kapamilya shows-I Love Betty La Fea, TV Patrol World, Dyosa, Iisa Pa Lamang, and Kahit Isang Saglit-occupied the bottom half. On the other hand, ABS-CBN shows ruled last Sunday's (October 19) viewing. ASAP' 08 topped the daytime race with 15.8 percent while Rated K occupied the top spot in the primetime race with 21.9 percent. Coming in second behind ASAP '08 is rival show SOP with 14.3 percent; followed by Showbiz Central (13.9 percent), Your Song Presents My Only Hope (12.9 percent), and the Cristy Fermin-less The Buzz (12.2 percent). Rated K was followed by Mel & Joey with 21 percent; Goin' Bulilit with 20.2 percent; Kap's Amazing Stories with 19.6 percent; and Sharon with 19.1 percent to complete the Top 5. Eat Bulaga! once again rule the daytime race last Saturday, October 18, with 22.4 percent. The rest of the Top 5 were occupied by Pinoy Records (20.1 percent), The Singing Bee (19.9 percent), Wowowee (17.6 percent), and Wish Ko Lang (14.8 percent). Finally, Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho became the No. 1 primetime program with 33.1 percent with Bitoy's Funniest Videos a close second with 32.7 percent; followed by Imbestigador, Celebrity Duets, and Komiks Presents Tiny Tony to complete the Top 5. Last week's No. 1 Maalaala Mo Kaya dropped to sixth place with the rest of the Top occupied by Banana Split, XXX, Nuts Entertainment, and Sine Totoo.
