Alden Richards’ new single tops iTunes' Philippine charts

Alden Richards’ new single landed in the No. 1 spot of iTunes’ Philippine song charts.

Titled “Wish I May,” it is the most downloaded song in iTunes as of today, September 3.

Alden's single was released just yesterday, September 2.

The GMA-7 actor beat other artists such as Justin Bieber, whose new single “What Do You Mean?” placed No. 2 in the charts.

Placing third in the charts was Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams,” a song from her album 1989. The music video of this song was released just recently.

In addition, Alden’s self-titled album (which was first released in 2013) is now the highest-selling album among Philippine releases, according to iTunes.

"Haplos" was the title of the carrier single of Alden's first album.

Other albums in the chart include The Eraserheads’ Anthology which placed second, and Sounds Good, Feels Good by the boy group 5 Seconds of Summer.

Last August, it was reported that Alden signed a recording contract with GMA Records.

He revealed that he will have at least one or two original songs, and the rest will be revivals.
