Solenn Heussaff shares experience playing Cassiopeia in new ‘Encantadia’
Solenn Heussaff does not plan to slow down in showbiz after marriage.
The Filipina-French actress and the Argentinian businessman Nico Bolzico tied the knot last May 21 in France with family and friends, including those from showbiz, in attendance.
Solenn related that she worked continuously before leaving for France and immediately upon her return.
“Actually, before leaving din, work ako araw-araw tapos lumipad ako, nag-ten days off ako. Bumalik ako, the next day agad, taping."
“Pero masaya kasi happy ako sa mga projects,” lahad ng Kapuso actress.
Elf language
Solenn is in the cast of the upcoming GMA-7 fantaserye "Encantadia," in which she plays a fairy named Cassiopeia.
She is also one of the lead stars of the sexy comedy series "A1 Ko Sa ‘Yo," together with Cannes Film Festival Best Actress Jaclyn Jose.
“Mas gusto ko ganyan,” Solenn told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other members of the press at the ToyCon 2016 event held in SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, last Saturday, June 11.
According to her, one of the challenges she has to hurdle in "Encantadia" is speaking in chants.
“Nakita ko ang script, lahat ng dialogue ko, chants. Sabi ko, mas gusto ko talaga mag-Tagalog kesa sa chants.Ang hirap i-memorize, elf language."
“May language talaga [para] sa akin. 'Yung Tagalog mahirap i-memorize pero naiintindihan ko. Ginawan nila ng alphabet, bawat syllable sa Tagalog, may chant. So, lahat ng words, puwede gawing chants.”
She added that she has bruises from the fight scenes, but she is not complaining, even describing her role as “astig.”
On playing Cassiopeia
She related that she is very happy to be part of "Encantadia."
“Very fun to shoot kasi ang laki ng cast. Actually, hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa kabisado lahat ng names sa cast.”
Solenn’s role as Cassiopeia was played by model-turned-actress Cindy Kurleto in the original "Encantadia" in 2005.
Cassiopeia is a former queen of a fairy kingdom responsible for dividing the mystical gem into four pieces, which represent the four elements: fire, wind, water, and earth.
Solenn said that she didn’t catch the original teleserye, “Actually, 'di ako talaga nakapanood dati, hindi talaga ako nagta-Tagalog. So, hindi ako nanonood ng Filipino channels before... it’s a good thing din para 'di ko talaga gagayahin.” —PEP
