Bini grateful, excited over Grammy submissions
Bini expressed gratitude and excitement after submitting entries in three categories for consideration at the Grammy Awards.
During a media interview at the sidelines of Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino 2026 on Wednesday, Bini Jhoanna said the opportunity to submit their music for consideration was already a significant milestone for the group, as she thanked their supporters for helping them reach this point in their career.
“We're very blessed to have been given the opportunity to submit our entries for Grammy consideration. That alone is already a big deal for Bini. Thank you to everyone who has supported us," she said in Filipino.
Mikha, meanwhile, described the experience as exciting, recalling how the group previously could not have imagined reaching the international milestones it has achieved.
“First of all, it's very exciting because the Grammys are such a big deal. I don't know if you've ever imagined submitting a song for Grammy consideration. At first, we couldn't imagine performing at Coachella. And now, here we are at the Grammys,” Mikha said.
She added that the group's achievements are not only about representing the Philippines but also about inspiring people from different cultures and backgrounds.
“It's not just about us representing the Philippines. It's also about showing people from all cultures and backgrounds that we can achieve this, no matter where we come from or where we grew up.”
The group submitted entries for Best New Artist, Best Asian Pop Music Performance for “Unang Kilig,” and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “A Parallel World.”
BINI's “Unang Kilig” was included in the group's 2026 EP, “Signals,” while “A Parallel World” was featured in the film “Forgotten Island.”
In April, BINI took the stage at the Grammy Museum, showcasing their vocal prowess with performances of “Blush,” “Unang Kilig,” and “Cherry on Top.”
Beyond their musical career, the Nation’s Girl Group have also been named Philippine tourism ambassadors alongside SB19.
Aside from BINI, six more P-pop acts including SB19, Ben&Ben, Baby Dolls, Khimo, Maymay Etrata and Carmelle Collado have submitted their entries to the biggest music award-giving body for consideration. — LA, GMA News
