“He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news,” it added.
In some reports, witnesses said they saw Walker driving the car, a red Porsche GT.
Meanwhile, an earlier report from TMZ said Walker was in Santa Clarita, north of Los Angeles, before the accident where he was attending a car show to support the Philippine typhoon relief effort after it was ravaged by super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).
Yolanda was one of the world's worst and most heart-wrenching natural disasters in 2013, moving many around the world, including celebrities, to pitch in to aid victims.
Witnesses told TMZ that the driver of the car lost control and slammed into a tree or post then burst into flames killing the passengers.
