Robin Williams' kids break silence, share fond memories of dad
By BIANCA ROSE DABU, GMA News
After the local police department released the official cause of death of actor-comedian Robin Williams his children broke their silence over his passing.
Eldest son Zachary Pym, or Zak, son of Williams and his first wife Valerie Velardi, said that he did not only lose a father, but also a best friend, and the world also lost one of its brightest stars.
"I will carry his heart with me every day. I would ask those that loved him to remember him by being as gentle, kind, and generous as he would be. Seek to bring joy to the world as he sought," said Zak.

Zelda Rae, Williams' first daughter with second wife Marsha Garces, was reportedly devastated and almost inconsolable on the day her father was found dead of an apparent suicide.
In her official statement, she shared how their family has tried to remain private about the time they spend together. "It was our way of keeping one thing that was ours, with a man we shared with an entire world," said Zelda.

She fondly shared the last memory she had of her father, which was on his birthday. According to her, she will always be grateful that she and her brothers got to spend that day with him in laughter and joy.
Knowing her father as a gentle, warm soul, even at his darkest moments, Zelda said she could not understand why he suddenly decided to go, but is much thankful to those who share their sadness and grief.
"It doesn't help the pain, but at least it's a burden countless others now know we carry, and so many have offered to help lighten the load. Thank you for that," she said.

Like her elder brother, Zelda believed that the world will forever be a "little darker, less colorful and less full of laughter" in his father's absence. "We'll just have to work twice as hard to fill it back up again."
Zelda also thanked those who donated to the St. Jude charity in her father's name.
Williams' youngest Cody Alan, the actor's second child with Marsha, expressed his utmost love and respect for his father. He believed, as his siblings did, that not just just their world, but the whole world will never be the same again. "[I] will look forward, forever, to the moment when I get to see him again."
Ex-wife Marsha Garces also released a heartfelt statement. "My heart is split wide open and scattered over the planet with all of you. Please remember the gentle, loving, generous—and yes, brilliant and funny—man that was Robin Williams. My arms are wrapped around our children as we attempt to grapple with celebrating the man we love, while dealing with this immeasurable loss." — JST, GMA News
