“Jim Jamison had a voice we will never forget. It was massive and huge and yet sweet and gentle. He was a loving soul and a brother to me in many ways. I will miss him greatly,” said guitarist Frankie Sullivan in the Facebook post.
Jamison sang monster hits such as "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV and "The Moment of Truth" from The Karate Kid after joining the band in 1984.
He was also known for reviving the band's hit "Eye of the Tiger," which was originally sung by the band's original vocalist David Bickler.
He performed "Eye of the Tiger" as Manny Pacquiao walked out to the ring to face Juan Manuel Marquez in the WBO world welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on November 12, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada, where Pacquiao emerged as the victor via majority decision.
The singer-songwriter also voiced and co-wrote the theme song for "Baywatch", and sang some of the band's greatest hits such as "The Search is Over", "Burning Heart", and "Is This Love".
According to BBC News, Survivor is currently in the middle of a tour of the US and Europe and were due to play dates in the UK next month.
There are no announcements yet regarding the rest of the tour following the singer's death. — Bianca Rose Dabu/BM, GMA News
